Trattoria Alfredo- Meat Feast Pizza (Review #1)
Trattoria Alfredo Take Away Meat Feast Pizza
Today's frozen pizza review journey takes us to Maryhill's Lidl in Glasgow. There was a reasonable frozen pizza selection in the back, however, some of this was taken up by two pizzas in a box. Recently, I've been attempting to get back into the gym, so I was searching for a high-protein pizza.
Frozen Pizza Nutrition
Of Lidl's selection, 'Trattoria Alfredo's; Meat Feast Pizza' stood out to me, containing 57 grams of protein (114%RI). In my opinion, this pizza is not healthy, as it has high levels of saturated fat (20.6g, 104%) and salt (5.54g, 92% RI). The pizza costs £2.30, arguably, a great price for a sizeable stonebaked pizza with an array of toppings, including; pepperoni, ham, sausage, meatballs and onions. The pizza when taken out of its box appeared appetising and lived up to my perception of size from the packaging. How long does a Frozen Pizza take to Cook?
Eating the Frozen Pizza
When
biting into the pizza the first thing I noticed was the flavour of the
meatballs, exceptional, and as I began getting further into the pizza, I only
wished that it was a more dominant topping. The pepperoni, ham and sausage were
secondary flavours to the tomato base and the mozzarella cheese yet were albeit
satisfactory. Into the second slice, I noticed that the distinct taste
throughout the pizza was in fact the onions and the garlic. Personally, this
was off-putting and made the pizza a little sickly accompanied by a drier and thicker than I would normally like my pizza. Despite this, the pizza
was still enjoyable, particularly in the early slices and in areas of meatball
topping.
I’m
giving this one a 7.5/10. Placing it as a matched 7.5/10 on the quality for price scale.
